Technical Specifications
To keep the racing fair and prevent damage to the track, all entries must adhere strictly to the following build regulations before being cleared to line up at the gate.

The Chassis & Body
- Base Component:The vehicle must be constructed using an authentic valve cover from an air-cooled VW engine.
- Propulsion:Pure gravity only. No engines, motors, magnets, or any form of stored energy or propulsion are permitted.
- Dimensions:Maximum overall length is 30 cm. Maximum overall width is 20 cm. Maximum overall height is 25 cm.
- Leading Edge:Absolutely nothing can extend beyond the front nose of the valve cover itself. This ensures clean, uniform contact with the starting gate pins.
- Weight:Maximum total weight is 3.5 kg. No moving, shifting, or liquid counterweights are allowed; all ballast must be securely fixed to the chassis or cover.

Wheels & Tyres
- Configuration:The vehicle must have at least four wheels.
- Sizing:The maximum wheel diameter allowed is 8 cm.
- Contact Surface:Tyres must have a non-metallic running surface (such as rubber, plastic, or urethane) to protect the track lanes.
- Placement:Wheels can be mounted in any position beneath or alongside the cover, but they must not extend past the absolute front or rear profile of the valve cover.

Track Cleanliness & Identity
- Oil & Grease:Your racer must be completely clean and free of old engine sludge, oil, or grease. Any car that drips fluids onto the racing surface will be disqualified immediately.
- Naming:Every entry must have a distinct name registered before racing begins.

Track & Race Rules
- Track Dimensions:The course features two parallel lanes, each 27.5 cm wide. The starting grid sits at a height of 1 metre, feeding into a 6-metre downward slope, followed by a 130 cm flat run-out to the finish line.
- Interference:If a competitor physically interferes with an opponent’s vehicle during a run, they automatically forfeit that round.
- Track or Technical Issues:If a racer is hampered by a verified track failure, a re-run will be granted. All technical disputes or staging line decisions will be settled by the track judge, whose decision is final.
Engineering is entirely open within these bounds. Add a custom chassis, dial in your tracking, weight it right up to the limit, or focus on detailing the pilot and paintwork. See you at the grid!
